Fady Jameel is and Deputy President and Vice Chairman, International of Abdul Latif Jameel, a family-owned diversified business, founded in 1945 by his grandfather, the late Mr. Abdul Latif Jameel.

Mr. Jameel heads the international operations of Abdul Latif Jameel in the MENAT region, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas, and is a member of the board of Abdul Latif Jameel.

Fady sees himself as an ‘activist investor’ championing the role of private capital in meeting the world’s greatest challenges from climate change mitigation, renewable energy and water to inclusive healthcare for all, and more.

Fady Jameel is Vice Chairman Community Jameel, an international organization supporting science and technology-led solutions to global challenges.

Community Jameel and MIT co-founded the Abdul Latif Jameel Clinic for Machine Learning in Health (Jameel Clinic) which has rapidly become the very epicenter of AI and healthcare at MIT.

It also co-founded the Abdul Latif Jameel Institute for Disease and Emergency Analytics (Jameel Institute) co-founded with Imperial College London, using novel data analytics to reduce global risk of preventable disease most recently including the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, and strengthening health systems in the most fragile settings.

Fady is also heavily involved in Community Jameel’s arts and culture program and is the Chairman and Founder of Art Jameel.

His passion and appreciation for art has led him to create a number of successful art initiatives and partnerships, including with the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Art Jameel’s two institutions – the forthcoming Hayy Jameel, a dedicated complex for the arts and creativity in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and the Jameel Arts Centre, an innovative contemporary institution in Dubai, UAE – are complemented by digital initiatives plus collaborations with major institutional partners and a network of practitioners across the world. These centers will serve as a platform to support and foster contemporary art and creative entrepreneurship within the MENAT region, and beyond.

Fady Jameel is also a member of the Council for the Arts at MIT.

Prior to taking up his current role, Mr. Jameel worked at Lexus’ North American Headquarters in Torrance, California, and was involved in investment strategy, strategic direction, and reviewing technologies for the company’s growth and investment plans.

Mr. Jameel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. He speaks English, Arabic, and Japanese.
